Practicing gratitude and presence. A postcard from Mauritius. Written by Keren Obara.
As I write this, I am in Mauritius, the paradise island. Healing, relaxing, meditating. Listening to Louise Hay and enjoying the present moment.
I had to take this mini-vacation, because I needed to rest and catch up to who I am.
You see, sometimes we get so lost in the “doing”, that we forget to put our heads up and live.
I hear the birds outside my window, the orange setting sun, I know the beach is out there waiting for me. This was a spontaneous trip, but it has been so soothing, calming, and relaxing for me.
The only thing that matters is the present moment. This is the lesson that the island always teaches me.
As I write into my gratitude journal, I am reminded of who I am, how far I’ve come, and how far I am yet to go.
Yes, I have much further to go, but one cannot loathe the present on behalf of the future.
