Blockchain technology refers to an immutable ledger system connected by a growing list of records, called blocks, that are linked together using cryptography. (Badr, Horrocks and Wu 2018). Asset tokenization is an ability of blockchain systems, which involves the digitizing of physical assets (Sazandrishvilli 2020), giving holders of the assets the benefits of blockchain which include immutability, security, and liquidity. One example can be seen in the ability to acquire real estate by making small installments of investments. Because blockchain is an immutable distributed public ledger (Sazandrishvilli 2020), it is quite impossible for one to duplicate an asset once it is in the ownership of another participant.
Recently, Hybe Corporation collaborated with South Korea’s largest crypto-trading platform- Dunamu, creating NFT photocards, moving pictures and other content from the artists as a way to promote online community engagement, in a secure and immutable way powered by advanced blockchain technology.
