Five months with Betterhelp Therapy.
When I first started therapy with Betterhelp, I personally did not think I’d get better. But after months, I am able to see that most of the issues that young people face are predominantly emotional. We are given too much to deal with, before we have the experience and faculties to deal with it. But it’s part of growth.
Before, I thought my anxiety was me. But soon I was able to differentiate between anxious thoughts, and my true self.
It feels liberating.
Anxious based thoughts usually bring fear and panic. But I learnt that an effective technique to counteract them is by directly challenge them. I have found that when I challenge these thoughts, I am able to hear my true inner voice once again.
I have to thank my therapist and my dad for being patient with me on my mental health journey. I hope more people take the leap to take care of their mental and emotional health.
